From Junction 36 of the M6, take the A590/591 to Ambleside (20 miles,
25 minutes). Continue through Ambleside centre, passing the Church

keeping to the right hand lane on this one way road. Turn right
at the traffic lights at the top of the street, then first left
(30 metres), past Tourist Information onto North Road. 20 metres
on the left is the entrance to a car-free cobbled alley (Bridge
Street). The Waterwheel B&B is the third cottage on the left. You
may park briefly at the top of this small road to unload (you will
be facing a shop called Silver Moon). A parking permit is provided
for parking at the nearby (250 m) car park.

Under your own steam
We are delighted to welcome people who arrive by foot over the hills
and by way of encouragement offer the inducement of a hot soak in
a bath and the knowledge that there is a lovely little café right
next door serving hearty soups and tasty puddings.
