Loughrigg
Up on the second floor of this old cottage is the light and airy Loughrigg bedroom.
As in the other rooms, a quality bed and bedding, antique furniture
and a welcoming bathroom beckon. Relax and enjoy the tranquillity
of your room, a haven in a busy world.
Take a few minutes to gaze over the rooftops of Ambleside to the
wooded slopes of Loughrigg, the hill that gives this room its name.
There is an excellent half day walk that takes you up onto Loughrigg
Fell then back to Ambleside via a path that skirts both Grasmere
and Rydal lakes. Undoubtedly one of the best short walks in the
Lake District.
In each room there is a folder with useful information and of course
we are happy to give you further suggestions for walks and excursions.
We have a small selection of maps and guidebooks in the dining room bookcase.
The Bathroom
Like the bedroom, this en-suite bathroom is decorated in soothing
neutral shades of carefully chosen Farrow and Ball paint. There
is a bath with a shower enclosure at one end, and gallons of piping
hot water for a good splash.
Fluffy towels and flannels are provided, as well as complimentary
organic toiletries from Faith In Nature.
