March 2015

Well, here at the Waterwheel the year has flown by and the quick eyed amongst you will have noticed that we’re writing this on the 9th of April 2015. We’ve been so busy and not just with work that we plain forgot to do an update – shockingly remiss!

Easter was a gorgeous time for us and busy as always. We did, however, make the most of it and so far we’ve thoroughly enjoyed every chance to get out into the hills. The weather has been glorious at times and the Pale and Interesting look that we maintain throughout the winter is slowly been replaced by the ruddy glow of a life lived outdoors. Lots of photo’s have been taken and we’ve placed them on our Facebook, YouTube and Google+ pages for you to enjoy.

You can check them out on the links below but in the meantime here is a taster of a little video we made from Loughrigg Fell.

and here is a taster of a walk we did yesterday to Alcock Tarn. It was a truly beautiful day and I think that this encapsulates the whole walk.

We haven’t managed to ‘bag’ any new Wainwrights as yet this year but we do plan to finish them all by the end of September. Currently we’re on 198 out of the 214 and we’re very excited to complete them. The bottle of champagne is already in the fridge.

We’re going to try to update the blog much more than we have in the past so keep your eyes peeled for more fascinating snippets of our lives up here in beautiful Ambleside.
