January, February & March!

What with all the fuss and kerfuffle up here of late I’ve been unusually rubbish at keeping you all up to date with our comings and goings. Hmmm, ‘goings'; an interesting word for a big development occurring in the near future but more of that for a later update…. Ooh, the suspense!

January was, as expected following the negative media coverage of the area, quiet. We were open for business; as was the rest of the Lake District and yet there was continuous coverage stating how terrible conditions were. Very annoying. And all us locals have had a good moan about it.

We did, however, have some great weather and the time to enjoy a little silliness.

Playing in the snow.

Playing in the snow. Julie and Nigel get a little carried away!

Good fun and a proper old fashioned snow ball fight with the neighbours.

Heading into February the news cycle of drifted off somewhere else and we started to get those crisp, fresh days that make the heart sing. There’s nothing quite like heading up to the snow line amidst green fields and blue skies…

A stunning day out on the hills.

A stunning day out on the hills. Skidding clouds and blue skies.

March has been quiet so far but that’s due to our taking breaks before the season proper starts at Easter. I took myself up to Loch Lomond for a few days walking and bagged a good Munro in the shape of Beinn Ime, the tallest of the Arrochar Alps. If you have to go somewhere else, and we certainly don’t encourage such antics, we’d suggest this lovely part of the southern Highlands…

An early morning on Beinn Ime. Alone but certainly not lonely

That’s all for now but watch this space for big, big news coming up soon……..
