Loughrigg

Up on the second floor of this old cottage is the light and airy Loughrigg bedroom. The Farrow and Ball lime white paintwork matched with the timeless William Morris Willow Bough fabric provides a relaxing Lakeland retreat.

As in the other rooms, a quality bed and bedding, antique furniture and a welcoming bathroom beckon. Relax and enjoy the tranquillity of your room, a haven in a busy world.

Take a few minutes to gaze over the rooftops of Ambleside to the wooded slopes of Loughrigg, the hill that gives this room its name. There is an excellent half day walk that takes you up onto Loughrigg Fell then back to Ambleside via a path that skirts both Grasmere and Rydal lakes. Undoubtedly one of the best short walks in the Lake District.

In your luxurious room, you will find a flat screen television with SkyCinema movies and NOWtv entertainment channels, super fast wifi and a variety of magazines or borrow a book from a small selection downstairs in the hall.

A welcome tray is provided, including coffee, tea and hot chocolate (Fair Trade), and biscuits. There is usually a sample of home-baking as well. In addition, a crystal decanter with a good splash of Port inside is cordially presented for your enjoyment.
